The Ten Commandments, they were for men to follow God’s wishes. They are a guidepost for how man was to live his life and conduct himself morally. The Beatitudes are eight declaration of blessedness spoken by Jesus at the beginning of the sermon of the mount. But we are going to discuss the importance of the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes for ethical life decision from the perspective of the Catholic tradition. Firstly, the decision we make are reflected to The Ten Commandments and The Beatitudes. Secondly, The Ten Commandments and The Beatitudes will guide you find happiness and better life and finally, it will increase your relationship with God.

The Ten Commandments are the basis for the Christians legal system that today govern most Western nations. So that means that laws from thousands of years are still applied to today society. In other words The Ten Commandments are like a set of laws for us to guide us to a good life, which will help you to achieve happiness. For example a commandments says not to kill, you would have a better life than a person who broke this commandment. The Beatitude are declaration of blessedness spoken by Jesus that will guide you in life and afterlife. For Example, Mother Teresa, she gave up all she has to help other in places like Haiti. That is one beatitude "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Mother Teresa she help lots of people so she can feel good about herself and make the person who needs help that someone cares. Another Example, "Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill" and you could use a modern example, like the lawyer who recently freed the man after he was in jail for 29 years for killing someone, but was innocent all along.
