Miranda in The Tempest is comparable to Jennifer Lawrence in that they are both beautiful, outgoing, and empathetic, among other traits. Miranda is one of the protagonists in the play. She is the daughter of Prospero, who originally held the title of the Duke of Milan until he and Miranda were escorted out in the night. They, along with servants Caliban and Ariel, have been stranded on an island for twelve years at the start of the play.
