Rain, heavy, wet, nonstop. It was never ending. Mika and her friends had been trapped in this castle for a week now. It just wasn’t safe to continue traveling in this kind of weather. Mika’s entire tail frizzed as she heard Garth volunteer. She turned to him and glared. But the overexcited stranger didn’t even notice.
“Yes, yes, please come, just hurry!”

The borrowed rain jackets did a good job of keeping Mika and Garth dry. Ahead of them was the excited group of men, Mika could hear their whispers and concerns. None of them really believed she was strong enough to hold the water back. Even she wasn't entirely sure she could…
“You’re going to be okay. Just believe in yourself.”
Mika tensed as Garth read her mind. Her cheeks instantly flared as she gave him a sharp look, “I don’t need you here.” She hissed the words under her breath.
“You can’t just run outside with strangers by yourself.” He commented briskly.
“I can handle myself!” She snapped.
“Really? You don’t even have a weapon.”
She choked. “Tempest could have come…”
