Poe uses dramatic imagery to create a violent picture in his reader's mind. In the short story“The Tell-Tale Heart”, Poe uses imagery to describe the narrator’s descent into insanity. An example of this would be “ He had the eye of a vulture- a pale blue eye, with film over it”. The author uses this quote to express the hysteria of the narrator. The reader can see that the man has begun to lose control of his sanity. This realization begins to draw the man into a violent rage.
