Student Social Skills Analysis

As an educator, my responsibility is to teach all student social skills because these skills will help them not just in school, but in the workplace as well. For this reason, it is very essential for all teachers to help students develop good social skills in the classroom and provide opportunities establishing productive communications working collaboratively. Every student in the school environment has to experience success working with others and establish a relationship of trust by sharing their thoughts and ideas. Therefore, the teacher must plan a good lesson and implement behavioral strategies that will help establish a learning environment in the classroom. For instance, students in my classroom get to experience the benefits of working as a team creating videos clips of mathematic projects or presentations. I also present to my students video clips using you tube on how successful people work together to create a positive change in their lives. According to Friend and Bursuck (2009), teachers must provide many opportunities for students to interact in the classroom using different instructional strategies and establish good peer relationships. In my school district, I have witnessed many students that do not know how to use technology to gain social skills. For this reason, teachers must implement different types of technology to enhance the social skills of all students.
