The Taming of the Shrew is a play wrote by William Shakespeare between 1590 and 1592. At the beginning of the play you meet Christopher Sly, whose a drunken man all the time. Sly gets kicked out of the bar and he eventually ends up falling asleep next to the lord’s house. When the lord gets home from hunting, he sees Sly lying on the ground passed out from being drunkhe orders his people to take Sly into the house and clean him up and put him into the house’s nicest bed and be taken care of. After awhile Sly falls into the Lord’s plan and he starts to think he is the master. At the beginning of Act One you meet Lucentio. Lucentio is a man who has traveled from Florence to Padua. Later when they arrive to Padua, they’ll have on their nicest clothes but decline the goods of the haberdasher and the tailor. Petruchio calls off the trip until Katherine agrees with him on what time they will arrive. If she agrees with Petruchio she’ll get something she wants. When they arrive in Padua, Vicentio finds a man disguised as him. The play ends as the newlyweds, Katherine and Petruchio: Bianca and Lucentio: Widow and Hortensio, have a banquet in Padua. As the banquet is ending the women start talking and the men start wagering on who has the most obedient wife. They wager 100 crowns. Lucentio calls on his wife Bianca first but she reufsed to come. Next Hortensio calls for his wife the widow and she also refused. Then it was Petruchio’s turn, when he called to Katherine she went directly to him. The play ends as Katherine, the new tamed shrew, and Petruchio leave the house. Ten things I hate about you is a movie directed by Gil Junger in 1999.
