The folkloric literature, from the eighth century up today, has included imaginary stories known as fairytales. The tales of The Thousand and One Nights dated back to the ninth century or even before, are cited in some Arab sources. But in fact, the first to draw attention to these texts were Western academics and Orientalists who engaged themselves in pointing out these works. However, the efforts of the Western critics and writers were mainly centered in making reproductions of the different texts of the collection and printing them in different editions. Nevertheless, the eighteenth century is regarded as the starting point of the renown of the Arabian Nights in the West. The Western novel gradually encompassed forms of folklores and fairytales
