This book, Kira-Kira is about a Japanese family, the Takeshima family. This family lived in Iowa, then moved to Georgia after the dad lost his job, in Iowa. The book is mainly about two sisters, Lynn and Katie, and how they always stick together. When they move, Lynn becomes distant from her family. She starts hanging out with all her new friends, like her best friend Amber. Katie starts feeling lonely and misses her big sister. Then one day Lynn gets very sick. Her parents don't know whats wrong with her, so they take her to many doctors, but they still don't know what is wrong. Katie is always sticking by Lynn's side helping her through her time of need. Unfortunately Lynn dies. Her whole family is devastated. They had a big funeral with
