Mandala Writing My Mandala has five things that represent me and is important to me. Those five things are volleyball, friends, my mom, symbols that describe me, and music. These five things are the best things that expresses me. On the top of the Mandala, there is a picture of my mom and I. My mom plays such a big role in my life. She is the person who raised me all by herself. I have so much respect for my mom and what she has done in her life. My mom is a single mom with two kids and a full-time job. Throughout the years, she has still managed to get us to our activities while having a full-time job. She is such a strong and independent woman. I have done so much for the age of 15 in my opinion and that’s all thanks to my mom.

Volleyball is very important to me for many different reasons. Not only it has been my sport for almost nine years, my grandpa played it his whole life as well. My grandpa from my mom’s side started playing volleyball at the age of ten. After so many years of practicing and playing, he had gone to the Olympics for volleyball and won a gold medal. My grandpa passed away from cancer when I was two, so I really didn’t get to spend a lot of time with him. He is the reason why I started playing volleyball. He is the one who inspires me every day to go to practice and do my best even if I am having a bad day. Volleyball is my outlet. If I am having a bad day I will go and play volleyball. It relaxes me and it makes me think about my grandpa because I think about how I am following in his footsteps. I love playing volleyball and seeing how proud my mom and her family becomes. They all get so happy and will come support me at my games. As I am growing up I want to become more and more like my grandpa. From all the stories I had heard about him from family members, he was such a great person. He cared for other people, wanted to do his best in everything, and no matter what was going on his life he always tried to see past that and enjoyed
