The ancient saying, “money can’t buy you happiness,” is spoken and frequently heard due it having the ability to continually operate true. Though, a person is expected to be happier being financially stable than if they were not, it cannot bring about true happiness. As Claire Boothe Luce said in her play The Women, “Money can’t buy happiness, but it can make you awfully comfortable while you’re being miserable”. The wealthiest people can be the unhappiest, just as the less fortunate can feel as though they are on top of the world. Possessions may be gained and/or lost which develops fear, and this rarely, if ever, leads to happiness. If material possessions are not what benefits ones ' journey to reach happiness, what brings about the concept? One way people are able to attain happiness is to have goals. It is urgent that people feel that they have a purpose within this world. Without that purpose, a person can percieve themselves as lost, stuck, and even experience depression. Life requires balance, and the people that understand that there has to be a healthy balance of work and play, thrive. They are greater coordinated with the world and therefore, they can seemingly effortlessly execute their happiness. Another instrument that can help lead a person to be truly happy is laughter. Life can be simpler with just a little amount of laughter. Comedians, live tend to live a longer life than other performers for the basic reason that they understand that comedy adds happiness to life, and causes daily life to be worth the minor tribulations. Therefore, people can be happy if they strive for goals and find items to laugh about. Is there anything else? Can people that hold goals and a sense of humor be unhappy still? Well, yes. Ultimately, the concluding key to happiness is the decision to be happy. Human nature tends to find all of the negativity in life and in everyday objects.
