The processes involved in the supply chain are very important to company. It is therefore very central and critical for the organization to make sure that it is operating or running a supply chain process that is very practical, efficient and sustainable and easy apply in terms of the daily expense. Sustainability means that the company is operating on sustainable resources, there are no environmental pollution, generates products that meet the needs of the customer among others. Also, the company or the business entity is in a position to operate in a way that is beneficial to itself, to the environment and to the society within which it operates (Cooper 14). It is significant to understand that efficient and sustainable supply chain processes saves the organization or the business entity tremendous costs of operation as everything will be produced and delivered on time by the suppliers or even the marketing of the produced products. This saves the company costs such as warehousing costs since the lean manufacturing design of management will fully be spreaded out and its benefits imported into the organization not only to its benefit but also to the benefit of the society within which the business operates since there will be no cases of environmental pollution that threaten the very existence of human life (Thomas 10). The process involves the steps of customization, documentation, training as well as testing the processes involved prior to the official upgrade. This step in the assessment process in imperative as it saves the business the risk of bringing on board those processes that are costly and less efficient as well as those processes that will not bring forth the desired results or outcomes. such an analysis prior to the official implementation is of great advantage as the business will not have to go the extra length of formulating and initiating new or novel processes but it will rather capitalize on the process of upgrading the processes that are already in existence which is less costly as compared to bringing on board totally new processes.
