The setting in America contributes to the mood of The Sundae Girl where it is really dim and gloomy adding to the painful story. When reading The Sundae Girl you start to feel helpless, you start to think that nothing else can go wrong only to find out you are wrong. Most of Sweet Honey is set down on a beach in Sydney at a cafe, where she goes to meet her new love interest Ash. When Honey moves to Australia she is hit with all these new lines and it is all foreign to her. One feature that adds mystery to Sweet Honey is the withholding of information. Honey's social media page is being hacked and it is causing everyone at her school to hate her. Honey does everything to try and delete the page but it just keeps on popping up. This issue is on going throughout the story and right until the very end of the book we don't know who it is until and Honey moves back to her home town and confronts them.
