The pondering questions remains. What makes a man a man, and what makes a woman a women? When it comes to the people in society, we think of a man’s masculinity or a woman’s body to define them. This questions is actually misread in multiple situation. The reality is that there is no actual definition of a gender unless it is defined based on physical looks. In the book, “The Sun also Rises,” by Ernest Hemingway, he talks about how men and women acted in multiple places throughout the 1920s. Characters like Jake and Brett demonstrated how the gender roles were slowly changing as the years go on after the war.

Traditions are like stereotypes. They can easily steer the direction of the child’s life. For example, many children that are raised with a family that are more financially stable tend to look for the easy way out of things. They don’t appreciate the things given to them as much because it was so easily handled over to them. This is how Cohn was essentially raised. Cohn is raised with a rich family so he could simply go out and travel without many restrictions. However, with Cohn, his friends are the ones that impact his lie the most. Society has seen what females can do and want them to be future money investors or even leaders. “Leaders” would be an example of Hillary Clinton. Since of now, she is the first woman in history to pose as a candidate for the position of the United States President. Empowered and inspired women across the globe look up to influential figures like Hillary and they find themselves opening up possibly for themselves.
Most women have declared that women and men should have equal rights. However, many women today are abusing their rights for their benefit. We may have equality in rights but we are not created equal, yet in some situations, in some workplaces many women lash out their anger and blame men. We are built differently and we think differently. Naturally, women and men will have disagreements. Women must recognize that misusing their rights. Many women still believe that most men today view women as inferior, but when the fight for equality becomes distorted, women can be as biased as
