It was the summer of my senior year. My dad had hauled my family to a little country called Cambodia. We were visiting my dad’s girlfriend’s family. Exploring and traveling across this beautiful country. Food was huge while were over there. Half of them I couldn’t pronounce, and fruits that would smell worse coming out than going in. I was missing American food so bad by the time to go home. While we were there my brother and father had gotten sick, I had not. They had a little stomach aches that were nothing compared to what was to become of me.
The last night there, a little boy asked “what do you miss most about America?”. I said the food of course. Food there was just so different from what I was used to at home. Even the burgers, my beloved Burgers tasted horrible! there
We took off from Cambodia to South Korea Incheon International Airport. As we landed I spotted Dunkin Donuts. Nothing could have made me happier than what I was looking at. I was so excited to get a taste of America. Those sweet Donuts, beautiful sprinkles, soft and doughy, just everything about them just made me excited. I turn my brother and said “hey look there is a Dunkin Donuts.”
Waiting for the plane to get unloaded and for us to be released off the tarmac felt like years. I was sitting there so excited just dreaming about the creamy Donuts dissolving in my mouth.
