It is essential to consider ways of resisting in order to acknowledge what form of society, values and practices are desired by individuals. It is also evident that Hartley supports cultural elitism rather than a political economy of capitalism and with elite universities operating in the same way by resisting McDonaldization, it is the other universities that are more prone to adopting the principles. Education is already becoming commercialised especially with online learning and having international based campuses, almost creating its own franchise like McDonalds
