Machinery was evolving, fighting methods were changing, and technology could give insight to the enemy. Perhaps one of the most important forms of technology created was the Super Computer. In 1936, Alan Turing, a mathematician, created the Turing Machine. This was the first computer like creation, and quickly acquired the capability of decryption. In the late 1930s and early 1940s, this helped tremendously with cracking codes created by the Axis Powers. With this technology, Americans could use this information in the war as well, and ultimately it played a part in winning the war. Once the war ended, the idea of a computer grew. As time went on, multiple people contributed to the expansion of this technology. America used the computer for war, advancement in the space race, and countless other occasions. By the 1990s, computers were much more accessible. Having a computer for leisure or business became vital. They led to the eventual creation of laptops, and soon a large majority of people learned to rely on these. Without the super computer being invented an entire generation that grew up immersed in a culture of computers and internet would be totally altered.
