Psychology is significant to the world around us and it involves around everyone’s life. Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes (Ciccarcelli & White, 2013). There are subfield that are included in psychology and they are Developmental, Social, Educational, Clinical psychology and many more. There are theories behind these subfields and how they are used in everyday life. The knowledge of these subfield can develop our social beings. Subfield of psychology has multiple branches of psychology such as development, social, forensic, community, counseling and clinical psychology. With the subfield of psychology having different branches; they all have different theories that are connected with a particular branch. …show more content…
There are different forms of it and how psychologist would understand the methods is by doing research or do case study on the topic of the subfield. The way they could understand the method is read other psychologist observation and view their own perspective of things. For example, Social Psychology and it is how the behavior of a human is affected by another human being. If a child is being bullied by a parent at home then there is a change that this child maybe the one in school that is bullying other. According to Ciccarcelli and White, Social Psychology is the study of the behavior of the group of an individual in their relationship to other groups. That cause the change of that person behavior due to what that person has affected to them. This concept can forge more compassionate interpersonal relationship because it help you learn about that person based on their social interactions. To find out who they are before you start off judging someone. The ways that it can enhance the social institutions is that the way we judge on others without getting to know them and to learn who they are or where they come from. If we could all get to know one another then there wouldn’t be any judgment. The way that subfield of psychology is applied to the lecture is that without known the different kind of branches then you wouldn’t have the knowledge of which theory belongs to which one. Just as it was shown with the developmental connects with the Piaget’s theory; which has nothing to deal with Forensic psychology. It is significant to distinguish the difference of each branch and understand each theory. The process of learning the concept and applying them so that it enhance the interpersonal relationship because the world around us has a different way of see things.
