This would count as the first pillar of faith and the Islamic Creed is La ilaha illa Allah; Muhammad rasul Allah. This translates into “There is no God but Allah; Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.” The first part of this creed was extremely important to Muhammad, he did not even allow people to paint pictures of anything or anyone because he felt this was a way of worshipping someone else other than Allah. For prayer all Muslims had to pray five times a day, morning, midday, midafternoon, sunset and at nightfall. Before they pray they must cleanse themselves of impurities and during prayer they must face Mecca and perform a series of ritual gestures that includes bowing and prostration. For charity all Islam followers have to contribute one-fortieth of their income to the needy apart from also giving to the poor. For fasting Muslims are not allowed to eat, drink, take medicine or have any sexual intercourse from when the sun comes up to when the sun goes down. This is done during the ninth month of the Muslim calendar. The last pillar is pilgrimage, which means that every healthy adult Muslim must visit Mecca at least once in their
