I. Introduction “Geography is the study of Earth’s landscapes, people, places, and environments” (“What is Geography,” n.d.). There are five main themes that can be referred to when discussing geography. The themes help answer specific questions, such as “Where is it?”, “Why is it there?” and “What are the consequences of its being there?” (“The Five Themes,” n.d., p. 1). These five themes are all relevant to the region, location, place, movement, and human-environment interaction. While walking through the neighborhood where I live, I took note of several different things in regards to these five geography themes.
II. General Overview

While walking through the neighborhood where I live, I took note of several different things in regards to these five geography themes. First, I took note of how the region relevance relates to the county that I live in. The second thing that I considered was my neighborhood’s location and how it relates to other areas, such as Washington, D.C. and Richmond, Virginia. The place of relevance, which is the physical appearance of my neighborhood, was something that I also took into considered (“The Five Themes,” n.d., p. 1). Movement in the area where I live has not changed much; however, there are two significant movement issues that I thought were relevant. Lastly, I noticed the interaction of human-environment and found more human-environment interactions than I initially thought that I would find.…
