The following is a study of an elementary school age student, female, Caucasian, age 10, Abby (due to confidentiality using fictitious name), who shows continual outbreaks of disruptive social behavior at the after-school center. This student spends approximately 6-7 hours a day at school, only to then be transported to an after-school center for another 4-5 hours. There are many external factors that can be the source of Abby’s misconduct, and can be linked to the social demands placed on the student while at school and/or the after-school center.
