Student Leadership Practices Inventory This short paper will concentrate on the results of the Student Leadership Practices Inventory (SLPI) from Dr. Vito’s leadership class. The SLPI was first completed by myself and was then sent out to three of my leaders and three of my subordinates. According to Dr. Vito, the following are the mean scores of prior SPI classes: Model the Way: 23.43, Inspire a Shared Vision: 22.86, Challenge the Process: 23.30, Enable Others to Act: 24.55, Encourage the Heart: 23.59. I will strive to be the example and recognize my followers for their hard work. The last year has been a difficult one for offices in a highly combustible climate with the community. I will work to make sure their efforts are recognized and get more involved in their schools. When I took the SLPI survey I did not know or understand the five categories or how the survey would be use. To get the most out of the survey one must answer the questions honestly. I plan on taking the information I learned about my leadership practices and make some changes when I return to work. This experience has taught me that leadership is not something that is in one’s genes, rather something that can be learned and grown from their experiences. I will work hard to grow my experiences and skills so I can be the best leader I can be for my

This includes assisting students with discovering their talents and interests, therefore developing a love of learning, while developing into ethical, productive citizens. Accomplishing this requires a leader who is knowledgeable in pedagogy and curriculum, including the use of data and current assessments to enhance instruction, and who possesses outstanding communication skills, the ability to manage an operation’s resources effectively, promotes collaboration and teamwork, and is passionate and committed to helping students learn. I believe that my interpersonal skills will be my biggest strength as an educational leader. I have analyzed the definition of leadership and now have a clearer understanding of it. According to, Introduction to Leadership; concepts and practice, by Peter Northouse (2015), leadership can be composed of many variables such as relationship, trait, ability, skill, behavior, and influence process. He also elaborates on how the “leadership of an individual can be used to influence a group to accomplish a common goal”. In addition, he discusses how leadership is not the same as management (Northouse, 2015, pp. 3-7).…
