The Struggle: The Reflection
This paper. I have have no idea where to begin on my thoughts on this paper, so I will start at the beginning and go forth from there. This paper has been one of my worst nightmares. It has been difficult. It has been stressful. It has been anything but pleasant. I have spent more hours than I could possible count researching and thinking about this paper. It was not the research that I hated. I actually loved the research element of this paper, and if it was not for deadlines, I do not know if I would have ever stopped researching for this paper because what I was finding was fascinating. But for now we will skip over the researching and dive into talking about the process of writing this paper itself.

Lackey’s office hours and talked through my problems and my pains. It was during this visit that I was able to finally figure out how to approach my topic so that I was writing about the causes rather than the solutions. I would “”pretend” that I was writing the first half of a series of blog-y type news articles on the subject of government and education. When I began writing the “official” essay, I focused on writing a comprehensive introduction that listed out the facts and reasons as to why the government is involved in education. By doing this, I was able to craft an essay that is not an argumentation or a solution to our problem, but rather a causal …show more content…
I became a journalist, an investigator. I grew as a student, as a researcher, as a writer, and as a person. I learned how to see things from a different perspective; I developed new writing skills as well as built on previously acquired skills that include critical thinking, analysing perspectives and pieces of writing, and effectively communicating my intentions through writing. In this article I continued to work on responding to opposing viewpoints and I believe that I have greatly improved and can integrate these into my paper with much more ease. For this assignment, I focused on really supporting what I believed to be the main reason that the government is involved in education while suggesting and disproving other possible reasons. One objective that I, personally, need to focus on that is not listed on any list of objectives is focusing on the experience rather than stressing over making it
