Personal Narrative: Perfect Couple

Claire closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, trying to exhale but her mind raged on thinking about the issues and problems at hand. She could not focus her attention to anything but the daily struggles in her life. She finally let out a breath with a sign… Has this become my life? Who did I marry? I met him when I was seventeen what was I thinking? Who have I become? How I am going to fix this? She looked back and thought about couples who said they make their relationship work, couples who lived long years together, even after the spark had died, She had seen it plenty of times, her aunt and uncle had slept in different bedrooms for years. What they didn’t realize was how much work they had to do. They started to be careless with their love, sending out sharp insults and criticisms and then rushing out the door to their next obligation. House repairs, the baby grew, debts piled up and Clarie grew into a sad and lonely version of herself. Her heart sank lower and deeper, knowing this wasn’t what she had hoped for. They were hoping for a soul mate and found that they barely even knew themselves. Claire and Tony were sinking fast arguing constantly and building walls to avoid one another.
