Reflective Analysis Of My Strengthquest Assessment

Improved Essays
My top 5 strengths which were identified through the StrengthQuest assessment were intellection, input, consistency, competition, and focus. I identified most with the strengths of intellection, competition, and focus. When it came to the strengths of input and consistency, there were parts of the explanation which I did feel applied to me but I identified with these two strengths the least out of the five. When it came to the strength of intellection I identified strongly with the entire explanation, but the sentence which I felt was most similar to me was “The theme of intellection does not dictate what you are thinking about, it simply describes that you like to think”. This line connected the most with me because I am constantly thinking, people even tend to say that I overthink, but it’s not always about anything really specific since sometimes I just think deeply about whatever comes to mind. I love to think, I am constantly wondering about what I see everyday or thinking about what I can do for the future, and sometimes I …show more content…
The next strength which I felt I identified with was competition, and the line which applied the most to my life was “You like other competitors because they invigorate you. Whether it is school, work, or just having a fun time going out with friends, I do consistently feel a level of competition. This pushes me to work harder in school assignments, at work, and in life in general. Although I identified with most of this result I don’t feel that I constantly feel the need to win like the report stated. I enjoy being pushed to work harder by those around me, but I can acknowledge that sometimes others will do better than me and that’s okay. The final strength which I identified with was focus. There is no particular line which stood out to me in the focus section because I felt that the entire thing applied strongly to my life. I am constantly thinking about where I’m

In the Strengths Finder survey, my five greatest strengths are adaptability, harmony, responsibility, consistency and an includer (Gallup, 2010). I realized that I had some of those strengths but some of those are new to me. The strength that has always stood out to me that I knew about was responsibility. The other four, I guess I have developed along the way. As I sit and think about my results of my test.…

After reading a few chapters of Strengths Quest, I was instructed to participate in the Strengths Finder assessment (Anderson, Clifton, & Schreiner, 2006). This 30 minute assessment was an interesting tool that pointed out my greatest strengths. It also provided a detailed description of what having those strengths mean and examples of how they are prominent in a person 's life. After taking the StrengthsFinder survey, I discovered that my five dominant strengths are empathy, harmony, consistency, relator, and restorative.…

The five greatest strengths shown to me by the Strengthsfinder Survey were Consistency, Belief, Responsibility, Developer, and Relator. I chose a life of Civil Service, in the Military and now as a Police Officer. Having Consistency and Responsibility I believe fit right into this life choice and in my opinion if you don't have Belief in what you're doing you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place. I utilize Consistency on a daily basis as a Police Officer. I wholeheartedly believe each individual has the right to be treated fairly and on equal ground to anyone else regardless of social, economic or criminal justice standings.…

Upon completing the StrengthsFinder survey, it is determined my 5 greatest strengths are the learner, achiever, competition, strategic, and relator, all of which I expected (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006). While reading the text I examined the various themes of different strengths, relating closely to the 5 assigned by the survey, I am impressed by how well the explanations were written in the book, Strengths Quest Second Edition. The text in correlation with the materials provided from the StrengthsFinder survey brought forth meaning and depth into finding out exactly the type of person I am. Learning is listed as my top strength in the survey (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006). I believe I have used that trait extensively throughout…

The strengths that I have acquired through high school are persistence, endurance, and work ethic. In high school I have always been persistent to keep my grade up and made it my goal to be on the honor roll. Freshman year I was able to make it to second honors, which is to have quarter grades no lower than a C. I persisted myself to make it to first honors (no grade lower than a B-). Towards the end of my sophomore year I achieved my goal. I persisted to make it to principal’s list junior and senior year.…

disorders often go undiagnosed and untreated in primary care (Harbin, 2003). This indicates that while treatments are available for mental illness, there are provider and system-level barriers to the effective delivery of these services. Respect, ensuring inclusion and full participation of consumers in all aspects of their lives is crucial in achieving recovery. Giving respect to aid in recovery is respectful communication and behavior and using person first language. Respect is understanding that mental illness knows no cultural or ethnic boundaries thus providers must consider cultural humility and be sensitive to the beliefs and customs of the community (Pratt et al., 2011).…

At first I thought of myself as the least empathetic person on this Earth, but through the last few weeks, I have noticed that I put people before me. I can see this as a strength, but mostly as a weakness. I feel that putting people before yourself could lead to self-neglect. If you focus on others and their work rather than focusing on yourself, they are excelling and you are not. My last strength was adaptation.…

Strength based psychology is a relatively new form of psychological training and behavior modification strategy originally developed by Donald Clifton. His approach valued identification and maximization of an individual’s strengths instead of the traditional approach of identifying and minimizing weaknesses. To wit: “At its fundamentally flawed core, the aim if almost any learning program is to help us become who we are not (Rath, 2007, p. 3).” According to Welch, Grossaint, Reid, and Walker (2014), the use of strength finding assessment provide insight and awareness into an individual’s own thoughts and behavior improved leadership based on four critical themes was obtained throughout an organization even without the individuals realizing the changes they were exhibiting. Thus, the subjects effectively became more adept at being themselves, developing and using their own recognized strengths.…

The purpose of the questionnaire is to find which of the 24 character traits are your strengths. The survey is 240 questions long and is comprised of a series of statements, most of these statements ask how much you think the statement sounds like you, but several of them ask how other people see you. After taking the test, it listed several of my strongest character traits, the top 3 traits being perspective wisdom, self-control and self-regulation, and love of learning.
