Under the Microscope - The Strategic Capabilities and Culture of DesignTech, Inc.
DesignTech, Inc. is a start-up company in the Silicon Valley in Half Moon Bay not far from San Francisco Bay. The company is not exactly geographically part of Silicon Valley but was culturally part of Silicon Valley. Design Tech had top-tier investors, an experienced executive team, and a strategically sound business plan. Engineers sent in their resumes and cautious investors lined up wanted to be part of this company before the business had actually opened the doors. At first, the company was stellar and after a few months the partners started missing deadlines and within two years, the board asked the CEO and co-founder to step down. Something was missing from the company and it was determined that it was the culture of the company that was amiss and the new CEO was selected to change the culture of the business by uniting the partners to make the company successful again. The health of an organization focuses on Organizational Infrastructure, Business Processes, Technology Enablement, Communication & Knowledge Management, Power Strategy & Support and Strategy, and Leadership & Market Alignment.

This can be shown in the vision and mission of the company by its leaders and team members. The vision desired by DecisionTech Company was to work their way back to the most talked about, well-funded, and the most promising companies in the technology business in Silicon Valley. The Mission states that teamwork prevails over everything. A strong company is only as strong as the team allows them to be, therefore conquering the five dysfunctions will be a recipe for a successful and profitable
