Leaving the comfort of home can be a painful occurence yet a rewarding one. The unfamiliar surrounding may make us miss home but will also allow for new experiences. Albert Camus portrays these ideas in his novel, The Stranger, where the protagonist Meursault faces an isolated yet eye-opening exile in prion. Through the detachment from Meursault’s normal life Camus illustrates how meaning can develop through anything. Meursault is thrown into jail after he shoots and kills another man. He at first does not feel himself to be in prison, instead feeling like he's sort of waiting for something to happen. He misses swimming and smoking his cigarettes and spending time with Marie. Soon the isolation gets to him and knowing that his death is approaching
