The Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a novella that was published on January 5, 1886, and was written by a man named Robert Louis Stevenson. This novella seems to revolve around three men, their names are Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde, and Mr. Utterson. Dr. Jekyll is a doctor, Mr. Utterson is Dr. Jekyll’s lawyer and good friend, and Mr. Hyde is a violent and cruel man whose existence is a mystery. The story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is literally a series of confusing and unfortunate events. First, Mr. Utterson grows suspicious when he finds out that Mr. Hyde will inherit all of Dr. Jekyll’s belongings in the event of his death. Utterson confronts Dr. Jekyll and he voices his concerns, he fears that Mr. Hyde is blackmailing Dr. Jekyll, but Dr. Jekyll panics and urges Utterson to drop the subject. Then, almost a year later Dr. Lanyon gets murdered, his murderer is none other than Mr. Hyde. And lastly, this story ends with the death of Dr. Jekyll and the truth behind his relationship with Mr. Hyde; Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde were, in fact, the same man. Jekyll represents the struggle between the good and evil sides of the human personality. Some people in today’s society struggle with making good or bad decisions, I am one of those people. There’s always this internal struggle with the choices I make and how they’re going to affect others. It’s like I want to be a good person and I want to do the right thing, but doing the right thing isn’t always easy. It’s easier to tell a lie than it is to tell the truth. It’s easier to watch Netflix than it is to do my homework. It’s easier to fall into peer pressure and say “yes” than it is to say “no”. Most of the time I take the easy way out, and the easy way isn’t always to best
