On a dirt track in southern Sudan an ELDERLY MAN, (74), and all matchstick limbs flee for his life. In his etiolated state, the odds are against him. Ahead of him is a walk of some fifty miles to the nearest town.

The Elderly Man leaves behind him only starvation and horror, and what the local Dinka tribesmen say was a massacre of men, women, and children. What happened in this marshland had its origins in another part of Sudan, seven hundred miles away.

As the Elderly Man approaches, he sees MABELL, (30's), and his wife ABUK, (25), who is struggling to deliver a baby on a wheelbarrow. The Elderly Man slowly walks towards them. He stands for a moment, somewhat not knowing what to say...
