Have you herd of someone called Bethany Hamilton? Bethany overcame losing her arm to a shark and faced her fears to get back on the surfboard. No matter what happened that didn't stop her from doing what she loves. She is one of the best and also one of the most talented women’s surfer. She is very competitive and determined to be the best. Not many people can do what she has done recover from that. Her story can help other through what she went through and give them confidence. This story begins the day of the incident.
"Got to get ready got to be ready, today's my day" said Bethany. Bethany is getting ready for the competition, this is her chance to prove she is one of the best as she was walking out the door her mom stopped her.

But Bethany started to get that feeling of being watched again like the lurking feeling. “SPLASH” A shark jumps out of the water with the board and Bethany left arm in her mouth, thrashing and rolling. The crowd was appalled at the site her inside the sharks mouth screaming yelling for help. The life guards rush as fast at the can to her and fight the shark off and get it to swim away. “What happened” said Bethany as she was being pulled on land, the water is stained with blood. Blood was shooting out of where her arm was after the shark ripped it off, she will die if it keeps up they had to do something fast. “Call 911 and get the med kit fast” said one of the lifeguard’s. the lifeguard put A tunicate on her arm to try and stop the bleeding but it is still coming out at a decent rate and she is close to dying and need’s to get to the hospital as fast as she can. “What happened, I don’t know what is happening I feel so dizzy” said Bethany. “You will be alright just stay with me, you can make it thought this I promise”. The ambulance showed up and her into the back to rush her to the hospital but the paramedics didn’t look like they thought she would make it to the hospital before she lost to much blood even if she did they …show more content…
It’s a very tough decision but she is already missing most of her arm. “Miss Hamilton have you make your choice yet” asked the doctor. “Yes I have, d-do the amputation” as she said crying “will do” said the doctor. “I never thought this would happen to my baby, I can’t believe it happened” she says crying. Bethany’s mom watched them wheel her away to get the surgery to possibly save her life she is already barely making it and the doctors don’t thing she will make it. She need more blood as well while doing the surgery due to the shark cutting through a major artery and it not being able to be closed fast enough. The doctor walks out to give them the news of how the surgery went. “Their where some complication’s with the surgery….. She lost a lot of blood, but she made it and she is in intensive recovery, we have to watch her to make sure she will make it through the night but she if fine for right now” said the doctor. No one was allowed to see her because of her state she is unstable. The next morning she woke up with no recollection of what happened and was confused oh why she woke up with no left arm. “What happened, WHY DON’T I HAVE MY ARM!!!” she said angrily “ calm
