The story of “Persepolis” is to tell people about what is going on during September 2002- one year after 9/11 and how this affected all of the Islamic people. During this time everyone thought that an Islamic person was a terrorist. That 's why she created this story to show people who are none Islam how it affects them and how their stereotypes are invalid.
The novel took place in the 1980’s which in that time there was a lot going on around the world. For example, in the united states of America, we had the cold war, various pop music such as Michael Jackson, a market crash, and neon colors everywhere. Also in the 1980’s in Iran the people there had a big rebellion, during this time the country was trying to make every female in the country

In this story, specifically it is drawn in black and white and most of the ways you can tell the way the mood is going on is by the expressions of the main character or surrounding characters. For example, in some parts of the story she will show more of a grim look when something more serious and dark occurred, whilst there is a more of a joyous and happy feel when she is smiling and happy things are occurring. Another way they express their style is by making everyone look the same by expressing an issue their country is experiences. Which also is pathos because you feel sympathy for a child more you would then a grown adult. Also there is a lot of logos evidence in this chapter being from the veil debate that happened to religious war. In one scene in Persepolis you see the man character standing there looking at the audience and she 's split down the middle. One half showing her religious side and the other here modern side. In that box as well the text says “I really don 't know what to think about the veil, deep down I was very religious but as a family we were modern and avant-garde.” He faces the that box as well looks very sad like she conflicted who or what to be. But if you keep going she thinks of herself as a really religious person. That being because the next box is a picture of her as a baby with an almost holy light around her head as she smiles.
