I needed a reminder to keep trying my best this year and this conversation made me remember that. It reminded me how much I value being here receiving an education. This connects to leadership because in order to be a good leader, one must be able to understand others around them. Understanding other perspectives and people can help reduce conflicts or can help resolve a conflict more efficiently. Most of the time, conflicts occur because someone is misunderstood or a person has not experienced a certain experience in the same way. This assignment is used for the leadership class most likely because it helps one seek someone out and be able to ask the correct questions to understand the other person. Some of the questions that were engaging were the open ended questions, since they made him come up with a response that he had to dig for. These questions help individualize conversations specific to that person. These types of questions are also used by nurses to get to know their patients better.
