Miracle at St. Anna is a 2008 novel turned film directed by Spike Lee and released by Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures. Through a survivor’s flashback, it depicts the experiences of four African-American soldiers and their time spent in an Italian village during World War II. The soldiers, nicknamed “Buffalo Soldiers”, were a part of the 92nd Infantry Division, a segregated army unit of both world wars. In 1944, Corporal Hector Negron, portrayed by Laz Alonso; Sergeant Aubrey Stamps, portrayed by Derek Luke; Sergeant Bishop Cummings, portrayed by Michael Ealy; and Private Sam Train, portrayed by Omar Benson Miller, become stranded on the enemy’s side.
