In Missouri 2009, 15 year old Alyssa Bustamante murdered her neighbor 9 year old Elizibeth Olten who was walking down the sidewalk by the neighborhood. Bustamante slit Oltens throat and stabbed her before burying her in a grave in woodland. Bustamante attacked the girl one day walking home from a friends house. It later had been found that 19 year old Alyssa was a very troubled child and suffered severe psychological problems, struggled with family problems, and had previously attempted suicide. She was tried as an adult and sentenced to life in prison. Bustamante had kept in journal why she had killed her neighbor, the journal stated “i just killed someone. i strangled them and slit her throat and stabbed them now they’re dead, i don't know
