From there on, she roamed the streets of Greece everyday and learned how to grow up independently. Despite growing up independently, Alycia was still a child at heart and she still yearned for love. When she became the age of 15, she met a women named Maria who became a mother to her. Maria introduced her to the flute and from that point on, Alycia fell in love with the flute. She started working as a street performer and became known as the most beautiful women in Greece because she enchanted the men with her beauty and her musical talents. Because of those traits, she was hired to play the flute at Agathon’s party. On the night of Agathon’s party, she was sent away abruptly by Eryximachus because the men at the party wanted to talk about love. When she heard this, she decided to eavesdrop as the topic intrigued her since she lacked love in the first half of her life. I don’t mean to intervene but I like to give my two cents on love. Although, I may be inexperience in love, everyone’s speech made me contemplate a lot about love. It made me develop the questions: Why is it that when we think about love, we think about love in an interpersonal relationship way? Can’t love occur in multiple areas such as your love for a job, a type of food, a type of education, a type of instrument, or any thing outside of an interpersonal relationship? Does love necessary lead to virtuous actions? And when we seek love, are we really trying to find our other halves to become whole
