PREFACE

Life sucks. It´s a fact. There are two kinds of people in this world: Those who accept that life sucks and they make do and those who decide to fight and make life better. Then there's me. I've accepted that life sucks and I make do, but I've also decided to fight. This is the story about a girl who has lost everything and has accepted her fate, but at the same time she still fights against her destiny. This is the story about how Coraline Andrews became someone else. She wasn't the same little girl anymore, but she was still the same person. She defied all odds and was able to fight, but at what cost? This is the story of a hero in the making, but it's not your everyday Marvel story. So much has been lost to this new world of darkness.

Sorry, not sorry.

So this is my life. Just a normal, everyday, female Junior who does theater and singing, but that’s only at school.

Outside of school, I'm the kid you don't want around your own kids. I'm always doing things in secret, always sneaking out, always doing what I shouldn't. Even run in with the law a bit, but that's the everyday life of a hero in high school.

I’m not Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Spiderman, or any of the great heroes we always see on TV. I'm a different kind of hero. The kind of hero that's once in a lifetime. The hero that is never noticed because they actually lay low instead of making themselves known.

Just kidding. I’m not anything special. I guess I’m considered a wannabe hero. I’ve been in the news countless times before, but I’m no Spiderman. The media has painted me as a “child who is just going to get themselves killed”. I choose to ignore them.

Nobody appreciates what heroes do around them to keep them safe. They live in blissful ignorance of the danger that surrounds them.

It’s not like they don’t know about it, they just choose to ignore what’s going on around them.

Anyways! Continuing on with before my

My mom´s parents then bought us train tickets to get to Newton, Kansas. My twin and I were just 3 years old when all of this happened and our older sister was about 12 years old at the time.

We moved in with my mom's ex in-laws for a little bit until we moved into an apartment. In 2007 my mother remarried and I got two step siblings, the oldest was a girl and the younger was a boy.

Now I´m one of five kids. In order from oldest to youngest it´s my step sister Abigail, then my step brother Blake, my sister Alice, my twin Chase, and then there's me, Coraline.

I live with my parents, Alice, and Chase in our new house.

I just started my Sophomore year at Newton High School recently and we’re about halfway through the school year. I have to go through yet another year with the same people. It really gets boring over time. Classes aren’t the best, but at least I’m passing.

Thanksgiving Break starts tomorrow and everybody was eager to leave. Some parents already started pulling their students out of class early. I had to stay though, but Chase was with me. Luckily Chase and I have all of our classes together and we were both happy about

Contrary to the stereotypical depictions of flawless superheroes, in reality, most of them are nowhere near perfection. An adequate example would be Hiram Ulysses Grant, often known as Ulysses S. Grant. Despite the fact that Grant had many shortcomings, for instance he wasn't very self-disciplined in the aspect of alcohol, Grant is still commendable to many because he was determined to win the war for what he believed in, he had served and protected his country his whole life, and that he has shaped the world we live in today. Ulysses Grant definitely had his flaws, hence he was just like anyone else. To begin with, he was an alcoholic, and this effect exerted on his career.…
