Social Stereotypes A stereotype is defined as “a simplified and standardized conception or image invested with special meaning and held in common by members of a group.” No matter who you are, no matter your gender, or many other characteristics, everyone is a part of a minority; and no matter what minority you are,you are likely to be stereotyped, but that doesn’t make it true. Common stereotype examples include: Blondes are unintelligent, Teens are careless, and A woman can’t do a man 's job. These are all frequently stated groups of stereotyped people.

All Teens Are Careless Rambunctious, loud, rebellious, and out of control...these are just a few of a wide number of stereotypes that are affiliated with teenagers. I personally believe that there are too many misconceptions about teenagers and their behavior. As a blonde girl I know this stereotype is not true. This "dumb blonde" stereotype doesn 't just exist in the world of movies and humor ( How do you drown a blonde?). A blonde in whose manner may root the blonde jokes is the french mistress Rosalie Duthe, who was mocked for her habit of pausing a long time before speaking again. She appeared not only stupid, but literally sounded dumb. Although the origin of dumb blonde jokes are unclear, Rosalie Duthe accomplished fame for being the first dumb blonde. Blonde jokes virtually always put the blonde in an unusual situation, and end up performing a brainless act. Recommending blondes have no common sense and lack intelligence.
