While she does wear pink, something we attribute to being girly, she keeps unruly hair and is excited about Gru’s inventions and torture chambers which would be something a boy child might be more interested in. She also has a raspier husky voice as appose to the soft gentle voice most young girls have. Another stereotype is exhibited by the eldest sister, Margo, when she is forced to take on a motherly role towards her sisters because their real parents were not in the picture. She nurtured her little sisters and when they were sad she comforted them. When Gru brought the girls to his house she asked important questions about their well being, such as: “where will we sleep and what will we eat? He washed their pink tutus when he did their laundry which is stereotypically a mother’s duty around the house. Although the Gru’s sex is male, he carried a feminine gender role to care for his new daughters.
