The first step is to have hope, to have desire and to dream, it is the most saccharine. Without these it can hardly be considered a victory when you achieve any success. Though the first step can be a pitfall, because dreaming is easy. When one follows a dream lead by an uneducated decision, one aims for a destination that can be far removed from where they really want to be.
As one climbs the ladder one will learn and develop new skills. Arnold Schwarzenegger said “You can’t climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets.” One must be willing to matriculate and work to advance a desire. Risking failure is often part of obtaining a greater success. As one scales the ladder, the failures and successes accumulate. This may give rise to new expectations, a successful person has to look at these and see new prospects. At some point one will fall off the ladder, some will lose the willpower to try to climb again, but the greatest triumph is getting back on the ladder. This is the final phase before you achieve your victory. One must be willing to sacrifice lessor successes for the greater success. Shown in the quote “The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become.” Known from Charles Du Bos. At this point it is very easy to lose sight of one’s ambition. These distractions tend to come from the environment around you. It might be hard to pay the bills, to make time and to say goodbye to old friends. This will take an enormous amount of discipline, but you must have a perfect appetency for your dream.
Seemingly the simplest part of success is maintaining it, but at these moments the plunge is more devastating. “The bigger they are, the harder they fall” you don’t have to look far and you will find a person of influence that lost everything they aspired for. It is important to enjoy one’s successes, but you must never loosen your grip on your dreams. One must find equal ground with not being a workaholic and complacency.
True success is a life style change, taking that extra step and getting results has to be a part of you. Never stop learning, times change and you have to change with them. By continuing to learn you open new doors and new goals. At the top of that mountain one only limits themselves by refusing to conquer the next
