How Did The Steam Engine Impact The Industrial Revolution

The industrial revolution was a very rough time for everyone. Everyday life for a commoners was very difficult since they would earn barely enough to support their families or go to a Pub to have a drink. Then one day Edward Somerset and Thomas Savery invented the steam that made lives in the time of the industrial revolution much easier for everyone. The steam engine effected the people in a positive way and a negative way. By 1800 there were about 2,500 steam engines running within Great britain this lead to a great impact on the economy of great britain. It had a huge impact on employment in Great Britain, then to the rest of world. The factory started using mills and factories replaced people that had jobs by creating with their hand. Middle class people usually worked in factories, mills, and transportation hubs, and enjoyed the improvement in their life. They worked less since there were machines.
