The documentary, Alive Inside, provided a look into how the brain’s reaction to music for nursing home residents with dementia provided an alternative therapy by allowing them to temporarily regain the memories and movement of their younger years. Before watching the documentary, I believed that the blues was nothing more than old genre of music. I was oblivious toward the fact that the blues had made such an impact on modern day music and that it was the foundation from which many of my favorite genres stemmed from. A topic that I specifically found interesting was that this very special genre of music, a genre that had been brought out of slavery and the black struggle had been abandoned by its demographic, the black community. During this time period, the early sixties, blacks had generally turned their favoritism toward Motown and Jazz, leaving the blues behind. What had been created to bring ease to the minds of blacks was taken by young white people whom I’d like to refer to as…

Some of the reasons sugar has been labeled as an epidemic would be because around 80 percent of all processed foods in grocery stores have added sugar that have…

Velazquez, Ashley Race: The Power of an Illusion: The Story We Tell A race is considered a difference of skin color. When I was young I remember describing my friends to my mother by their skin color. Looking back, it made me realized, not much has changed when we deal with street crimes, homicidal crime or acts of delinquency we categorize these actions through race. Society constructs our views on race and stereotypes forms the way we treat others. Many people feel racial discrimination has faded however, that is not the case.…

“Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg” have made the “The terminal” a delicate and sweet comedy building the film to a point where it makes one to hold the breath since it is precisely devised. The author tries to analyze a product of Hollywood through applying a cultural approach with the aim of revealing some pre-occupations and concerns of the citizens of the United States which involve commercial consumerism, progressivism, and their discrepancies. Through this approach, he aims to evaluate the extent to which the film reflects on the reality of humanity in intercultural and interpersonal communication.…
