I believe humans in nature were born being good and doing good with other people. No one is born having a mindset of doing evil. The Human Nature that Locke states is “Man is by nature a social animal”. This is a great example of what I believe since humans do many great things together for the greater good and do good on their own for the benefit of themselves and others.
In the State of Nature that Locke states, he explains “men mostly kept their promises and honored their obligation, it is mostly peaceful, good, and pleasant.”. It uses the word “mostly” because everyone will not do everything right all the time, but they can sure get close to doing good most of the time. People in society knows what is right and wrong. As Locke would state in Conflict , “Peace is a norm, and should be a norm… and for the most part we do.”. Peace can come from doing good to oneself, other people, and their community. Peace does not come from from evil within people. If everyone was born being evil, there would be no peace, everyone would be killing others, and society would not be great at all. Take WWII for example. At the end of the war, there was the Paris Peace Treaties. That treaty was met for the Allied powers and Axis power to come to an agreement and be at peace with one another. Of course making bad choices led to some consequences like Italy losing Italian Libya and Italian East Africa, but overall everyone came to an agreement for peace, which looking at now had a great affect on millions of people. WWII taught many people including myself that we can live with peace and should live with peace because no matter what happens, at the end, everyone has a good heart and not everyone wants to live in a miserable
