Did you know that the 82nd Texas Legislature reduced both the state and government funding by about $500 million? This may be why the cost of going to school is so expensive now and is ever growing. Not only that but the spending of schools has also grown quite a bit throughout the years. There needs to be a way to solve the problem of schools getting more funding and students not having to pay so much for their education that they should be getting, in my opinion, for free. The lack of school funding leads to many other problems in Texas. One is that there are not a lot of equipment that can be spent on students for their educations. An example would be like new computers or possibly iPads to increase the way students learn in this growing technological world. The lack of school funding can also affect students who are from low income families that don 't have access to a lot of things and ways to get new knowledge from the world. The only way they can safely have these experiences is through school. "The analysis of new data on 2008-09 school-level expenditures shows that many high-poverty schools receive less than their fair share of state and local funding, leaving students in high-poverty schools with fewer resources than schools attended by their wealthier peers" (U.S Department of Education, 2011).
