InTASC Standards 1, 2, and 3 require that teachers are able to understand the importance of knowing their students and creating environments conducive to learning. While in the classroom, it is important that teachers are able to know relay content but to make content relevant in their teaching. Although content is extremely important, it is also pertinent that teachers are aware of the environment and community they are creating in the classroom. Below I have included evidence that demonstrates InTASC Standards 1, 2 and 3.
With InTASC Standard 1, I have included a Brain Teaching Target that details different ways to involve students in learning. When I completed the BTT last year, I worked diligently to include strategies included in my BTT Unit Plan. TASC Standard 1 requires students to understand how learners grown and develop. It also requires teachers to look closely at the cognitive, linguistic, social and emotional development. While completing my BTT Unit Plan, I became

Last year, my classroom was poorly developed and it did not allow for a lot of collaborative work. The student work wall was rarely updated and students found it difficult to take my class seriously. At the end of the year, I was told very directly that my classroom did not seem like a place to learn. During the summer I reflected and realized that the environment was just as important as the content being taught in the classroom. The attached video provides a short tour that includes the Student Work Wall that is updated bi-weekly, as well as the inspirational "Be" wall that encourages students to be themselves. I 've also included the "Community Agreements" and "Corrective Actions." Both documents detail how our classroom is run on a daily basis. InTASC 3 indicates that the teacher makes sure to enforce positive interactions, in my classroom this is achieved through community agreements and corrective

Two of the Effective Educator Goals that I have chosen to provide rationale on are, Manages & Motivates and Reflects on Practice. I feel very strongly that most students, when given a positive, encouraging, and nurturing learning environment, can motivate themselves to be socially interactive and engaged in their own education. When students see your positive energy, feel your desire to learn, and know they are an asset to your classroom; most often will put forth the effort to be an active participant. I have had differentiated environments to meet the needs of certain individuals to promote a supportive and meaningful environment that was conducive to learning.…

This made me see how important it is to set up the classroom environment early. Establishing the classroom interaction and environment earlier was a key thought from the author. I would agree that it is important to create positive and encouraging vibes so students can learn. I stopped to think about my classes now at Carroll and their environments. I came to the conclusion that I talk and interact more in my education classes than I do any other class.…

This theoretical Underpinnings paper analyses how I will teach what I am planning to teach, and also what makes this lessons interdisciplinary, differentiated, and what makes them moderate to high cognitive complexity. During my lessons, my main focus was keeping knowledge alive on the students. According to Doll, romance is the early period of fresh exploration when the joy of the new, the zest of undisciplined exploration are dominant. During my lessons, keeping knowledge alive was essential because students should feel happy about learning, students should feel the excitement of learning new things, and feeling the romance of fresh exploration, students should not feel bored, or even feel as if they do not want to be in the class. As I taught…

InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards (InTASC) The updated InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards includes the statement that, “the purpose (of the standards) is to describe the new vision of teaching to which we aspire as we work to transform our education system to meet the needs of today's learners” (Council of Chief State School Officers, 2011). Why would we need to transform our educational system? No Child Left Behind and Common Core Standards raised the bar for student standards, therefore, our educational system must support that change. There are three main themes within the InTASC professional teaching strategies including the idea that children are unique learners, teachers need to have a depth of knowledge on his or her own content areas, and professional responsibility.…

My study of this environment has helped to develop my beliefs of teaching. There is so much more to being a teacher than just teaching letters, numbers, and phonics. You are developing these students, minds, senses, social skills, reasoning skills, and so much more. I would like to create this safe space students need and find ways to always meet the needs of every single student. I noticed in Ms. Brittany’s room that she was able to create connections with all her students, but at times struggled with effectively communicating with each…

As stated in the InTASC Model Core Teacher Standards, Standard 3 addresses Learning Environments. The standard states: “The teacher works with others to create environments that support individual and collaborative learning, and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.” To me, the classroom environment is one of the most important things that can impact the student’s ability to learn and allow them to feel comfortable within their own classroom. I believe that it is extremely important to form a relationship with your students, and get to know each one of them before you can effectively educate them. By getting to know your students, you are not only getting to know them, but you are also…

All teachers performed great jobs at creating a unified classroom of learners. The students have favorable moments to act as chiefs and helpmates with individual responsibilities; their jobs are placed in a pocket folder on the wall. Students could participate in classroom activities in a variety of ways. Ms. Atkinson, Bell, Waldoky, and Gullekerson used a rocking chair during their teachable moments. I noticed around the classrooms, the teachers modeled supportive interactions with the students, and encouraged prosocial behavior.…

In conclusion, this project made me think of what a student must feel in this situation every day. I think we need to make the student feel included in every way in the classroom. We want the student to feel comfortable coming to school and learning. We need to set the environment to a positive learning experience to fit the individual need to help them accomplish their learning goals. We need to teach all the students to respect and help one another in the…

My Classroom Management Philosophy I believe that classroom management plays a major role in creating a successful classroom. A successful classroom must be a safe learning environment, offer positive encouragement to encourage students to make the right choices, set rules that are understood by the students, and creating responsible students who can take control over their own work. This type of classroom is a major goal of mine because I feel as though the students would really benefit. I am committed to creating a safe environment and creating positive reinforcement within my classroom.…

Classroom management is crucial for every teacher to have in a successful learning environment. I believe that students need to be controlled and disciplined; students at this age need to be guided in the right path. They are capable of self-discipline but need to be shown what the rules of the classroom are and what is the expectation of the teacher. I believe that students are basically good but that the environment around them influences them tremendously. If they maintain busy with instruction then they will not have time to be disruptive and they need to be guided to behave appropriately.…
