It was my first year hunting, it was also my last chance to go hunting before early bow season ended for shotgun season. I was getting anxious because I had not yet gotten a deer and I had bought my tags myself and did not want to not use them after spending fifty plus dollars on them. I pulled into my uncles drive way to pack my stuff in his charcoal grey f250 ford pickup so we could go to Pisgah, Iowa to the louse hills for our final hunting trip.
“Are you ready to go”, he asked.
“Yes, I am very anxious and nervous about not getting a deer or turkey”, I answered him.
I helped him feed his dogs and pack so we could leave sooner. His girlfriend, Carman was also going with us helping pack and was going with us in her own car. We left his acreage around eleven-thirty a.m. and went on our way south. We stopped in Sioux City around twelve- thirty and went to Menards to pick up a backpack and hand warmers for our hunt later that night and for the next day. We also stopped at Arbys for lunch and stopped at a gas station for gas. We left Sioux City around one o’clock and traveled for another hour down to Pisgah.

We got into the truck and headed out again, I was hunting in the same spot as I did the night before in South Piece so I walk the mile and a half around the ridge to the tree stand with the less then desirable climbing sticks I take a deep breath in and then let it out be for I start assenting the sticks to the stand.
