Islam spread due to military force and missionaries. With this type of power, it caused more people to listen and accept Islam. Mecca was important because that was the place where Muhammad started to spread Islam. Many wealthy people were against and worried in Mecca. They threatened Muhammad and even tried to kill him. On the other hand, the poor people liked him because if they served Allah (God) they would become equal with the rich and the poor. Later in 622, Muhammad and his followers were invited to Medina (the Prophet’s city) so they moved over there. Medina was the Islamic state. Many people accept this religion at this point.
