This can be found in the New Testament in the book of Matthew, Chapter 28, verses 19 and 20. This verse is referred to by Christian missionaries as the Great Commission and inspires missionary work among the church and its followers. A Christian missionary can be defined as "one who is to witness across cultures.” The Lausanne Congress of 1974, defined the term, related to Christian mission as, "to form a viable indigenous church-planting movement.” This act of faith by followers of Jesus helped spread the stories of Jesus. In modern times, Christian missionaries can be found in many countries around the world. The missionary work was so successful because, as a whole, Christianity appeals to everyone especially the poor or under privileged.
Also, Christianity appealed to women by treating them with respect. Certainly, the New Testament Gospels, written toward the last quarter of the first century CE, acknowledge that women were among Jesus' earliest followers. According to one story, an unnamed Gentile woman taught Jesus that the ministry of God is not limited to particular groups and persons, but belongs to all who have faith. As Rome grew larger and fought many wars, the nation’s soldiers would spread its Christian message throughout conquered and barbaric territories.
