Going down the “path of darkness” leads to a life of worldly recognition and the thought of one having superiority over another. According to C.S. Lewis’s, Mere Christianity, arrogance and an abundance of pride leads “…to every other vice. Examples of this can be found in the movie Jesus of Nazareth. At 1:46:52, characters of Jesus of Nazareth are shown going against Jesus when he said that the Kingdom of God was upon them. When they heard this, they reacted to Jesus’s claims as if it was blasphemy and they begin to not believe him. They then proceed to tell him he cannot touch the scroll because of his “dirty hands.” This can be concluded as an example of people following the “path of darkness” being that they are going against everything Jesus had to say. However, at 6:04:04, people are seen following the “path of light.” Here, Peter and a few others listen to Virgin Mary when she claimed that Jesus came back to life (or was resurrected). They proceed to the tomb where Jesus was buried and see for their own eyes that Jesus was back to life.
