Analysis Of Mother Teresa's Acceptance Speech

On December 10, in the year 1979, an acceptance speech took place in the Oslo City Hall in Norway. The speech was spoken by no other than Mother Teresa, a Roman Catholic religious sister and missionary who was raised in India and had dedicated her life to helping those in need. Mother Teresa’s acceptance speech was in front of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, King Harald, and other very important people. Her speech was about finding peace in the world and helping everyone that needs it. She started talking and making reference to God and her outfit went well with what she had to say. Her speech reflected her dedication to God as well as all the people she wanted to help out and serve. Her word choice was carefully picked, precise and clean. Her tone was a calm yet persistent one where one could see how subtle but also determined she was on her work. She would pause just enough to make a clean speech, she didn’t hurry off or seemed nervous in any way which only interested the audience into paying attention to her. However, one may think that she would have an even more effective speech if she would of played with her voice a little more or do some sort of hand gestures. If she would have changed her voice into a stronger one she maybe could have expressed some strong feeling that wasn’t empathy or remorse.
In conclusion, Mother Teresa 's acceptance speech took of a lot of effective in her audience. She gave a very touching insight in her work where she inspired many to follow her lead into doing what’s right in the world. Her dedication and commitment in her work really showed how she deserved the award. It also affirmed that her love for the poor is undeniable and that she loved the same way God loves
