I Remember Me is the second studio album by American R&B recording artist Jennifer Hudson. Jennifer Hudson is a Grammy Award-winning recording artist, Academy Award-winning actor, and best-selling author. In 2007 she received the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for her performance in “Dreamgirls”. The title song from the album was “I Remember Me” which was co-written with Ryan Tedder who is also a Grammy Award-winning recording artist. Along with co-writing this song with Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Tedder wrote the music and produced the track for this song. "If He brings you to it, He will bring you through it." There would be no point in faith if it was not tested. My mother always told me no matter how negative your life seems to be, you must always look for a positive. That is what I believe a woman of faith should do.
The style of the song sounds very mellow and it is not a happy song, nor sad. It was a way for Jennifer Hudson to grieve after the significant loss she experienced. As stated by Jennifer Hudson “Sometimes I find it difficult to express (myself) and that is where it came from with ‘I Remember Me,’ it was the best way for me to be able to put myself out there as far as my emotions, my thought and where I feel like I am in life right now.” With all this in mind, I believe she is also trying to have a positive outlook on the situation and life in general.
The I Remember Me album release date was March 22, 2011, by Arista Records and the title song “I Remember Me” received mixed reviews from critics. Although this song did not receive the rave reviews, I think it did what it needed to do to help Jennifer Hudson heal. The entire album reflected the different chapters of her
