My father highlighted to me that education is the only way for progress and prosperity for families and the nation at large. His inspirational advice encouraged me to stretch myself in my studies. I studied hard and did very well in school, and I continued to believe in the power of education to one day improve the lives of not only my immediate family, but also my relatives, neighbours, country, and beyond. It was in my young mind that the seed of a passion for public health became planted when my father told me that my elder sister is died from chronic diseases (Hypertension and Chronic heart failure) and led me to study health promotion during my undergraduate studies and human nutrition at postgraduate …show more content…
The skills I will acquire from this training experience will help to develop an interdisciplinary work in this area that would allow me to apply epidemiological concepts in nutritional research. I 'm filled with excitement about the kind of cutting edge research I could do with the excellent courses that would be at my disposal, and above all, with the interaction and guidance I obtain from the world class nutritional epidemiology professors at Tuft University, Friedman School of Nutritional Sciences and Policy.
